ABOUT CHRYSALIS - the company
The name Chrysalis Painting is inspired by the gold stripe that surrounds a cocoon while a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. As the cocoon hardens, the chrysalis forms. Eventually, the butterfly reveals itself and the chrysalis drops. Every home or project is a butterfly waiting to spread its’ wings and we are honored to be a part of the chrysalis that brings it to life.
No project is too big or too small to benefit from working with a professional painting company! Chrysalis Painting’s mission is to bring your vision to life with type of personal customer service that can only be achieved at the small business level.

ABOUT ME - David Reese, owner/founder
With over 25 years experience I’ve learned a thing or two about painting.
Before starting my own company, I worked with several large painting companies which gave me the perspective on how to smoothly run a painting operation. I had always wanted to build my own small business, and in 2002 founded Chrysalis Painting out of my home in Petaluma. I’ve been fortunate to work on projects from San Francisco to Mendocino counties . Most of my clients are in Sonoma and Marin counties, which has definitely made for some gorgeous commutes along the coast.
While passionate about painting services, outside of working I enjoy spending time with my wife of 30 years and 2 daughters (now in their 20’s - how did that happen so fast?), watching the Warriors (whether they win or lose), and playing Catan (I always go for largest army).
